Lesya MATSKO is a film director, author, producer and multimedia artist who works on films, video art projects, animations, commercials and other media-related projects.
After graduating from the University of Cinema, Kiev, Lesya successfully graduated from La Femis cinema school, Paris (Atelier Archidoc), Atelier des Beaux-Arts (Photo argentique), she obtained a MASTER as a film director, scriptwriter and producer at the ESRA film school in Paris
Lesya Matsko got the Grand of the President for her first short film, and the Grant of the French Government.
Learning film directing and obtaining the several grants from the Ministry of culture, collaborating with Museums, such as Center Pompidou in Paris and Jewish Museum in New York, Lesya started to work as a film director and producer on various films and theater productions. Her love for films and photography materialized in the form of a film director career. Kiev and Paris vibrant cultural life proved to be the perfect place to explore many different creative alleys.
Lesya's projects have been heard in numerous festivals worldwide such as World Underwater Film Festival (Antibes), Kustendorf film Festival (Mokra Gora, Serbia), Moscow International Film Festival (Moscow), International Cinema & Art Film Festival (NYC), Molodist International Film Festival (Kiev), Raindance (London), Berlinale (Berlin), International Film Festival (Singapore), Festival Courant 3D (Angouleme), Short Film Corner – Cannes Film Festival, New York Art Film Festival (NYC), etc.
Lesya's background is based on experience in the field of: films & short films, documentaries & video art creation; collaboration with Contemporary Art Museums, such as Centre Pompidou in Paris & Jewish Museum in New York; creation of videos & photos for numerous fashion brands and designers. I
Lesya Matsko is a Member of the CINANDO, of the National Union Cinematographers (Ukraine), AGESSA (France) and resident of La Ruche – “cité d'artistes” in Paris, where worked such artist as Chagall, Modigliani, Soutine and others.
In each of her projects, she is searching for the audiovisual identity and the answer to eternal questions: What? How? Why?
