The ancient city Selestat is threatened by the Inquisitor. The old sorcerer Zigmund cannot save the city, so he is looking for a young follower, and it turns out to be a boy named Lucas... However, to become a real magician, Lucas must go on a dangerous journey and find his own Shadow.

SYNOPSIS

Everything Lucas tries to do falls out of his hands. His stepfather, the Butcher, says that Lucas is a failure. Perhaps he is. But why does the magical Book of Shadows, which has kept no one near it for thirty long years, entrust itself to him, a misfit and a coward?

The old sorcerer Zigmund, the Book's guardian, asks Lucas to help the city, which is threatened by the Inquisitor. First of all, he needs to get back the page that the Inquisitor once tore out of the Book, because with this page he can conjure up as much gold as he wants. This is a rather difficult task, because the Inquisitor returned to the city precisely to find the Book of Shadows and take possession of all its pages. What does he need it for? It's scary to imagine. The Inquisitor is powerful and evil! During the task, because of his timidity and clumsiness, Lucas loses his own Shadow... And the Inquisitor still has the page from the Book. The disappointed sorcerer warns Lucas that if he doesn't get his Shadow back by morning, he will die.

So Lucas has no choice but to embark on a dangerous journey that changes his fate. He finds himself in a HUB of shadows that looks like a big megalopolis. Cars, trains, even a calculator and printed books seem like real magic to Lucas! It turns out that Lucas's Shadow was taken here by the administrators of HUB of shadows. They think that it was Lucas who tore a page out of the Book and caused a power outage in the megalopolis. The administrators want Lucas's Shadow to become the administrator of the megalopolis and stay here forever. However, Lucas bravely rescues his own Shadow and manages to escape from the megalopolis with it. Returning to the city Selestat, Lucas exposes the Inquisitor and takes the stolen page from him. The townspeople are surprised. It turns out that such a brave and smart guy has been living next to them all this time! The old wizard retires.

Congratulations to the young wizard! Now, using the magic of the Book of Shadows, Lucas performs shows for the people of the city, inspired by what he saw in the HUB of shadows. Lucas's performances bring ideas of technological progress to the townspeople.
